The 33-year-old midfielder is one of the longest-serving players at Old Trafford following his £17m move to the 20-time English champions from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
Carrick has remained an important part of Louis van Gaal’s set-up this term, and the United vice-captain has made 17 appearances during an injury-hit season.
And the England international couldn’t contain his excitement on the photo-sharing app following the confirmation of his new 12-month deal.
Carrick posted the above photo and wrote: “Another year for me at Man Utd Love being part of this special club.. That will take me to 10 years.. Wow time flies..”
The former Spurs midfielder has scored 23 goals in 376 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions during his nine-year United career.
Carrick, who has 31 England caps, has won five Premier League titles, the Champions League and League Cup since moving to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils midfielder could line up against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
