Alberto Moreno and Adam Lallana looked in good spirits as Liverpool trained at Melwood on Saturday morning ahead of their Premier League trip to Swansea City.

Brendan Rodgers’ men were put through their paces on Merseyside as they turn their attentions back to the top flight following last weekend’s goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Also picture in action on Saturday morning was Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who is closing in on a return to action after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Martin Skrtel was also involved in the session. The centre-half had to be carried off on a stretcher against Blackburn at Anfield last weekend after a heavy collision but is in contention to return to action in South Wales on Monday, Rodgers told a news conference on Saturday morning.

Here are some of the best pictures from Saturday’s training session at Melwood.
