Arsenal have been handed a significant boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Liverpool after Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Mikel Arteta all took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.

Debuchy has been out of action since January after suffering a dislocated shoulder, while Arteta has been sidelined with a calf problem.

However, the pair are now closing in on returns to action and both featured as Arsenal hosted Brentford in a friendly clash at their London Colney training ground on Tuesday.

Also pictured in action were midfield duo Wilshere and Abou Diaby.

Wilshere has not featured for Arsenal’s first-team since November after suffering ankle ligament damage in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United and requiring surgery.

Mathieu Flamini and Dan Crowley were among the other players pictured in action.

Arsenal host Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

Here are some of the best pictures from Tuesday afternoon’s friendly at London Colney.
