Rio Ferdinand has backed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to win the PFA player and young player of the year.

The 21-year-old scored within 80 seconds of his England debut on Friday night after he replaced captain Wayne Rooney in their 4-0 win against Lithuania in Euro 2016 qualifier.

Kane has been nominated for both PFA awards after an impressive Premier League campaign so far, scoring 19 goals in 26 top-flight games this season.

Queens Park Rangers defender Ferdinand took to Twitter to heap praise on England’s new hero after his dream debut at Wembley last night.

Kane has scored 11 goals in his last nine Premier League games after his treble against Leicester.

Only Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has scored more goals than Tottenham talisman Kane in 2015 after his 13 strikes in the calendar year so far.
