Santi Cazorla runs the rule over Arsenal target Alvaro Morata
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla heaps praise on Gunners target Alvaro Morata
Sanit Cazorla has heaped praise on Arsenal target Alvaro Morata after the striker scored Spain’s winner against Ukraine on Friday night.
The Spain international was linked with a move to the north London club before the 22-year-old completed a switch to Juventus last summer.
Morata has impressed for the Serie A champions despite his relative inexperience, scoring seven goals in 22 top-flight games in Italy.
Cazorla, who has been one of Arsenal’s standout performers this season, revealed that the Spain squad have congratulated the striker on his form.
“[Alvaro] Morata’s the future of Spain. He’s doing well at Juve and we’ve all already congratulated him [for his goal],” Cazorla is quoted as saying after Spain’s win.
Morata completed a move to the Turin outfit last summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements at Champions League holders Real Madrid.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for a striker in the summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options.
Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette is another name who has been linked with a switch to the FA Cup winners.
