Thibaut Courtois challenged his Chelsea team-mates to quickly put their Champions League disappointment behind them and shift their focus to winning the Premier League title.

The Blues were dumped out of Europe’s elite club competition on Wednesday night after a thrilling 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge sent the Ligue 1 side through to the quarter-finals on away goals.

We are five points ahead and we will do everything to win it

Chelsea don’t have much time to reflect on the defeat, however, with the Blues set to take on Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men are currently five points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand, and goalkeeper Courtois is determined to help the Blues finish the season with a League Cup and Premier League double.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website after Wednesday’s Champions League loss, Courtois said: “It’s annoying because we are used to having three matches a week and now we will just have one but, OK, now we can put all our concentration into trying to win the Premier League.

“We are five points ahead and we will do everything to win it.

“It will be hard, we are disappointed now but there is another great trophy to win this season and we want to do that.”

Chelsea must still face the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the title run-in.
