Aldridge, Collymore and more: Twitter reacts as Liverpool lose to Hull

John Aldridge and Stan Collymore tweet their thoughts as Liverpool lose 1-0 to Hull City on Tuesday night

Brendan Rodgers is coming under increasing pressure on Tuesday night after Liverpool lost 1-0 to Hull City at KC Stadium.

The Reds, who played out a goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, fell behind in the 37th minute after Michael Dawson headed past Belgium international Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool remain seven points behind Manchester United with four games to play in the Premier League campaign, and here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from the professionals past and present in chronological order.

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel (@Ryanbabel) is feeling optimistic ahead of the mid-week clash: “C’mon guys #LFC”

Meanwhile, former Reds striker John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) alludes to the lack of Liverpool fans in the away end: “The protest comes true!1st time I’ve ever seen the away end less than full of Lfc fans.HOPE it makes a difference?”

Albeit with the benefit of hindsight, former Arsenal man Emmanuel Frimpong (@IAMFRIMPONG26) should probably stick to the football: “Balotelli will score today”

Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique (@Jesanchez3) issues a rallying cry for his team-mates as the game kicks off: “Come on boys!!! Let’s win this”

Newcastle legend and Liverpool fan Mick Quinn (@mickquinn1089) has given up hope: “Don’t want to watch it anyway Hull City 1-0 Liverpool Dawson”

Former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers man Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) is thoroughly unimpressed with this Liverpool showing: “Rodgers said if LFC finish out of top 4 they’ll struggle to attract top players. Playing like this they’ll struggle to attract crap players”

Ex-Liverpool striker Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) issues his backing for the Reds manager despite a disappointing result: “Huge pressure on Brendan Rodgers now too, FSG may take some convincing this summer if there are suitable men available. I’d still stick mind”
