Arsene Wenger: Why I’m so happy with my Arsenal squad

Arsene Wenger admits that he is thrilled by the strength in depth now available to him at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has revealed his delight at the strength in depth available to him at Arsenal.

Arsenal are the in-form team in the Premier League and won their eighth game in a row when they beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday to stay second in the Premier League table.

The likes of Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott were left on the bench for the victory at Turf Moor, while Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were all unavailable due to injury.

And the Frenchman is feeling optimistic about the future at Emirates Stadium with the current crop of players at his disposal.

Wenger is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I have a quality bench and we even have quality players at home like Chamberlain, Arteta, Wilshere. I didn’t even try [to play] Debuchy.

“We have a big squad and I think we have quality. Let’s see how we finish the season and after see how we do next season.”

Arsenal return to action when they take on Reading in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley as the Gunners look to defend the title they won last season.

The Gunners then take on Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on 26 April.
