Daley Blind: Man United will challenge for title next season

Manchester United midfielder Daley Blind talks up a potential Premier League title bid next season

Daley Blind has warned Chelsea that Manchester United will challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The Red Devils were emphatic 4-2 winners against defending champions Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday thanks to goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling.

We are still improving and we really are one team, which is an important thing

Louis van Gaal’s side are just eight points behind the current leaders ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

And Netherlands international Blind, who joined United in a £16m deal from Ajax last summer, is confident the Red Devils can launch a title bid next term.

“I think Manchester United is always a club that is fighting for the title, so it’s an easy answer,” Blind is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

“You want to do better every time and if you see how we play, I think we have improved a lot.

“We are still improving and we really are one team, which is an important thing. We have to go on this way and keep in our mind that every game is a final.”

United have won six successive Premier League games since a 2-0 defeat by Swansea City at Liberty Stadium in mid-February.
