Danny Welbeck: Why I was right to leave Man United for Arsenal

Danny Welbeck insists that he made the right decision in opting to leave Manchester United to join Arsenal last summer.
The England international has enjoyed an encouraging start to life at the north London club following his £16m move, scoring eight goals in all competitions for Arsene Wenger’s men.
The 24-year-old striker has also notched up eight assists for his team-mates to help Arsenal reach the FA Cup final and up to third place in the Premier League table.
Welbeck was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford last summer and raised eyebrows when he opted to join the Red Devils’ Premier League rivals.
However, the striker feels that he has made the right decision and is looking forward to a positive career at Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Welbeck said: “I’m happy about the move to Arsenal and I think things will go well for me in the future.
“It’s a good group of lads and everyone’s been class with me since the day I arrived.
“It’s been transitional for me, moving down to London, playing in a new system for a new manager and a new team, getting used to new things around the club.
“It’s not just one thing [that has improved]. My all-round game, getting used to the different systems and different players means you learn a lot more, gather more experience and you just develop naturally.”
Welbeck will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to Hull in the Premier League on Monday.
