Former Liverpool striker Don Hutchinson wants Jurgen Klopp, whilst David Thompson defends Brendan Rodgers
Don Hutchinson believes Liverpool have lost their desire under Brendan Rodgers and would rather see Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
The Reds manager is coming under pressure after a surprise 1-0 defeat by relegation-threatened Hull City at KC Stadium on Tuesday night.
Klopp has been linked with the Anfield role as well as the Manchester City position after he declared that he will quit Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Former Liverpool striker Hutchinson started a debate with David Thompson on Twitter on Tuesday night, asking the retired Reds midfielder if he would rather see Klopp take over.
Thompson wrote: “I love Klopp and really like Brendan but he has been naive and blown big opportunities,this happens with development coaches..u?”
While Thompson sought to strike a balance in his stance, Hutchinson was rather more emphatic in his stance, calling for Klopp to replace the Northern Irishman.

Liverpool are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the race to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
The Reds face Queens Park Rangers at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
