Francis Coquelin: How Arsenal can stop Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas
Francis Coquelin knows that Arsneal must be at their best if they want to stop Cesc Fabregas for Chelsea on Sunday
Francis Coquelin has warned his Arsenal team-mates that they will have to be at their best if they want to keep Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard quiet for Chelsea on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s league leaders head to Emirates Stadium looking for a victory to take another big step towards winning their first top-flight title since 2010.
Fabregas has been in fine form for Chelsea since his transfer to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer, and the Spaniard is now gearing up for his first return to Emirates Stadium since leaving Arsenal back in the summer of 2011.
And Arsenal midfielder Coquelin knows that he and his team-mates will have to be at their best if they want to keep Fabregas and Hazard at bay in north London this weekend.
Coquelin told Arsenal Player: “He [Hazard] is probably one of the best players in the league, maybe even the best this season. It’s going to be a tough game but like in every big game you want to win.
“Hazard and Cesc Fabregas are great players who can do such great things at any time in the day. You need to be focused the whole time and that’s what I’m trying to do for the 90 minutes.”
Arsenal head into Sunday’s clash in north London in second place in the Premier League table after having won their last eight top-flight games.
