Jordon Ibe revelled in a great result for Liverpool after the Reds were 2-0 winners against 10-man Newcastle United at Anfield on Monday night.

England international Raheem Sterling opened the scoring with a brilliant individual goal in the first half before Joe Allen netted his first goal at Anfield with 20 minutes remaining.

Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko received a second booking for a reckless challenge on Brazilian Lucas Leiva in the closing moments of the game as the Reds secured three points.

Here is a selection of the reaction from the Liverpool players following a morale-boosting win ahead of their clash against Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet (@SMignolet) is looking forward to the weekend’s last-four cup tie: “Job done tonight! Up to Wembley next. #YNWA ”

Reds forward Jordon Ibe (@IbeJordon) praises the goal-scorers: “Great result for the team tonight.. Class goals from 31sterling and #JoeAllen”

Spanish defender Alberto Moreno (@lfc18alberto) is clearly happy with maximum points: “Great performance lads!! YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE #comeon #liverpool #anfield #3points #smile #happy #YNWA”
