Jose Mourinho reacts to Arsenal fans’ ‘boring Chelsea’ chants
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho shrugs off claims that his side are boring after a goalless draw with Arsenal
Jose Mourinho laughed off the suggestion that his Chelsea side are boring after a goalless draw at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal had the better of the possession but the north Londoners struggled to breakdown a rugged Chelsea defence marshalled by captain and man-of-the-match John Terry.
The visitors had two penalty shouts turned down by referee Michael Oliver after Oscar collided with David Ospina and Santi Cazorla tangled with Cesc Fabregas.
The away side were greeted with chants of ‘boring, boring Chelsea’ during the second half at The Emirates, but Mourinho was unfazed by the criticism of his side from Gunners fans.
“I don’t think it was boring Chelsea. I think it was boring something else,” Mourinho told BBC Sport.
“The fans want to win it and they took Giroud off. The fans wanted Walcott and Giroud on together.
“I don’t think it was boring Chelsea, it was boring Arsenal.”
Chelsea are 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the top of the table ahead of their trip to Nigel Pearson’s Leicester City mid-week.
The Premier League leaders can wrap up the title in the week ahead with victories at Leicester and Crystal Palace.
