Juan Cuadrado will be Chelsea success, says Colombia legend
Colombia legend Rene Higuita talks up Chelsea forward Juan Cuadrado
Juan Cuadrado will be a success at Chelsea despite a slow start to his Premier League career, according to Rene Higuita.
The 26-year-old completed £23.3m move to the Premier League leaders from Fiorentina on the final day of the January transfer window.
However, Cuadrado has made just two starts for the west Londonders so far, whilst Mohamed Salah, who moved in the opposite direction on loan, has scored seven goals for Fiorentina.
But Colombia’s famous ‘scorpion kick’ goalkeeper Higuita is adamant that the Chelsea signing has all the necessary attributes to be a hit at Stamford Bridge.
“He is a player that has many qualities, and hopefully he’ll do well in London,” Higuita is quoted as saying by London24.
“He’ll make a very good improvement process in England and hopefully look his best version. I think he can do it.”
Cuadrado has made six Premier League appearances following his big-money move from Fiorentina earlier this year.
The Colombia forward has racked up just 187 minutes of top-flight action for Jose Mourinho’s side so far.
Chelsea are set to face in-form Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
