Leicester 1 Chelsea 3: We don’t get enough credit, says Didier Drogba
'Maybe people find us boring because we have been top of the league since day one,' says Chelsea striker
Didier Drogba claimed that Chelsea do not get the credit they deserve after the Ivorian’s goal helped put the Blues on the brink of the Premier League title with a 3-1 win over Burnley on Wednesday.
Drogba scored the vital equaliser for the Blues in the 48th minute after Marc Albrighton had put the home side ahead on the stroke of half-time.
Goals from John Terry and Ramires then made the three points secure for Jose Mourinho’s men, who can win their first title since 2010 with victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but Drogba feels that he and his team-mates should have had more praise for their performances this season.
“We don’t get enough credit for all of the work we’ve been doing,” Drogba told Sky Sports after the game.
“We are top of the league, we have the most points and maybe people find us boring because we have been top of the league since day one.”
Chelsea captain Terry echoed his team-mates sentiments following the win over the Tigers.
“We’ve been the best side all season,” said Terry in the same interview. “We deserve a lot of respect, we’ve been very good all year.”
The veteran Chelsea skipper continued: “We are almost there. They were a tough side and they kept fighting.
“We got a telling off at half-time and we came out and played excellently in the second half. It wasn’t good enough in the first half but listen, we got the three points. Let’s hope we win it on Sunday.”
