Liverpool transfers: Samir Handanovic discusses his Inter future
Liverpool target Samir Handanovic is unsure of his long-term future at Inter Milan
Samir Handanovic has opened the door to a potential move to Liverpool after the goalkeeper admitted his future at Inter Milan is unclear.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for a goalkeeper in recent months as Brendan Rodgers looks to provide Simon Mignolet with more competition.
Handanovic has been a regular in the Inter Milan side under manager Roberto Mancini, however, the Slovakia international is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Speaking to Sky Italia, the 30-year-old shot stopper conceded that he is in the dark over his future at the San Siro outfit, adding that there have been no talks over a new contract.
“I still don’t know what the club wants to do. So far there have been no steps forward,” Handanovic said.
Handanovic has made 35 appearances for Inter in all competitions this season, keeping a clean sheet as Mancini’s side were 3-0 winners at Verona on Saturday.
Liverpool, meanwhile, face Newcastle United at Anfield in the Premier League on Monday night.
