Man United transfers: Brazilian defender delighted by Old Trafford talk
Miranda admits that he is flattered to see himself linked with a summer transfer to Manchester United
Miranda has admitted that he is flattered by the speculation linking him with a summer transfer to Manchester United.
The 30-year-old centre-half has been touted as a possible target for Louis van Gaal as the Dutchman looks to bolster his defensive options at Old Trafford ahead of next season.
The Brazil international still has a year and a half left to run on his Atletico Madrid contract after joining the Spanish side from São Paulo back in 2011.
But the defender has revealed that he is thrilled to have seen himself linked with a possible summer transfer to United.
“Of course this news reaches me, and it makes me happy. It shows I am doing well,” Miranda told Estadao.
“It makes me proud, but my intention is to stay at Atletico because I still have a year and a half on my contract.”
Miranda has scored three goals and made one assist in 17 La Liga games for Atletico Madrid so far this season.
He made his senior international debut for Brazil back in 2009 and has been capped 13 times by his country.
United take on Manchester City at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
