Man United transfers: PSG respond to Edinson Cavani reports
Paris Saint-Germain say that they have no intention of selling Edinson Cavani this summer
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed that he would pay no attention to a £35m offer for Edinson Cavani from Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils are reported to be keen on luring the Uruguay international to the Premier League as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his squad during the summer transfer window.
Cavani has scored 11 goals in 30 Ligue 1 games for PSG so far this season and also netted six times in the Champions League.
Manchester United are reported to be considering a £35m bid for the striker, however PSG chief Al-Khelaifi insists that the French side have no intention of selling.
Speaking to Le Parisien, Al-Khelaifi said: “I have not held talks with Cavani over his future. He is a young player and is the future of PSG.
“A €50m (£35m) offer from Manchester United? I would not even look at such a bid.
“Edinson needs a bit more confidence, but his last game against Lille – in which he scored twice – was further proof of his talent.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action against West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon as they look to bounce back from successive defeats in the English top flight. The Red Devils are currently fourth in the table.
