Mark Bright pokes fun at Arsenal’s decision not to re-sign Cesc Fabregas
Former Palace man Mark Bright believes Arsene Wenger should have found space in his Arsenal side for Cesc Fabregas
Mark Bright has questioned Arsene Wenger’s decision to reject the chance to re-sign Cesc Fabregas after the midfielder helped Chelsea take a step closer to the Premier League title.
The Spain international teed up his midfield partner Ramires for the west London side’s third goal in a 3-1 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Wednesday night.
The former Gunners captain was linked with an emotional return to the north London club but a move failed to materialise amid reports Wenger rejected the chance to snap up the playmaker.
And in a light-hearted dig at Arsenal and their manager Wenger, former Crystal Palace forward Bright hinted that the Gunners should have made room for Fabregas in their side.
Bright wrote on Twitter: “17 assists for Fàbregas, now what player at Arsenal did Wenger say had his position covered?”
Fabregas has made an impressive 17 assists for the Premier League leaders this season, which is seven more than Arsenal’s top creators Alexis Sanchez and Santi Caorla.
