Oscar warns Chelsea over Arsenal threat
Oscar is wary of the threat posed by Arsenal as Chelsea prepare for their trip to The Emirates on Sunday
Oscar has warned his Chelsea team-mates that they will have to be at their best if they want to beat Arsenal at The Emirates on Sunday.
The Blues head across London to take on Arsene Wenger’s side and looking for a victory to continue their move towards their first top-flight title since 2010.
Chelsea are currently 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, but Wenger’s men are in fine form, having won their last eight top-flight games to keep their bid for Champions League qualification on track.
And Brazilian midfielder Oscar admits that he has been impressed by Arsenal’s recent form ahead of this weekend’s showdown in north London.
Speaking to Goal, Oscar said: “We know we are very close to the title but there are some challenges ahead,” he added.
“If we manage to lift this trophy and keep this level of performances we certainly will do some other good seasons like this one.
“They [Arsenal] have improved a lot. They have won almost every match they played recently. So we know they are a real threat. The good think is we’ve been doing well and we know that we are up to any challenge.”
Oscar, who joined Chelsea from Internacional in 2012, has been a regular fixture in Chelsea’s first-team this season and has scored six goals and made eight assists in 27 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s men.
