Paul Merson: Why Arsenal will ease to victory at Burnley

Paul Merson is confident that Arsenal will beat Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday evening

Paul Merson is confident that Arsenal will claim a comfortable victory at Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Gunners have had a week to prepare for Saturday’s clash after their stunning 4-1 win over top-four rivals Liverpool at Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Arsene Wenger’s men are in fine domestic form and have won nine of their last 10 Premier League games.

They head into Saturday’s clash at Turf Moor in second place in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea.

And former Arsenal midfielder Merson feels that the Gunners are certain to seal victory over Burnley in style.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “Arsenal don’t lose these games. The sun will be shining. It’s always the same. Arsenal win their last 10 games of the season and then next year is their year – although it won’t be. They do it every year.

“They were great against Liverpool and scored four worldies. When they get it going they are as good as anyone. I can’t see Arsenal slipping up like Manchester City did at Burnley – they are a different animal.

“Arsenal are quicker on the break and are ruthless in these games. I do think Burnley have a win or two in them somewhere, so I wouldn’t write them off in the relegation fight just yet.”

The north London side beat Burnley 3-0 when the two sides last met at Emirates Stadium back in November.

Arsenal take on Reading in the semi-finals of the FA Cup later this month as they look to defend the title they won last season.
