Alexis Sanchez reveals his delight at helping Arsenal reach the FA Cup final with victory over Reading

Alexis Sanchez took to social media on Saturday evening to reveal his delight at helping Arsenal reach the FA Cup final thanks to a 2-1 win over Reading at Wembley.

The Chilean scored twice as Arsenal booked their place in next month’s showpiece after extra-time in north London.

Sanchez gave the Gunners the lead in the 39th minute in north London when he fired home from close range.

However, Reading battled hard after the break and equalised when Garath McCleary’s volley crept past Wojciech Szczesny and over the line nine minutes after half-time.

The 26-year-old then scored the winner in the second half of extra-time after Adam Federici’s error led to the ball crossing the line.

Sanchez was clearly thrilled to play his part in helping Arsenal take a step closer to defending their title.

He uploaded the photo above onto his Instagram on Saturday night and wrote: “Happy for our victory and for our team.”
