Ander Herrera admits his delight after being voted Manchester United's player of the month for April

Ander Herrera has thanked Manchester United’s fans after being voted Manchester United’s player of the month for April.

The Spanish midfielder scooped the prize with 63 per cent of the vote after making four appearances this month. He also won February’s prize.

Herrera has scored seven goals in 27 games for Manchester United following his transfer to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao last summer.

And Herrera was thrilled to win the award, telling Manchester United’s official website: “Thank you very much to all our fans. I feel your support and I hope I can keep improving. Thank you very much!”

Herrera, who has been a regular fixture in the United first-team in recent weeks, will be hoping to feature when they take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils are bidding to return to winning ways after back-to-back defeats by Chelsea and Everton in the Premier League in recent weeks.

Louis van Gaal’s United side are currently fourth in the Premier League table heading into their final four games of the season.
