Mathieu Debuchy has taken to Instagram to express his delight after the defender took part in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday afternoon.

The France international joined Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere for their friendly clash at their London Colney training ground.

Debuchy hasn’t featured for the north London side since January after the former Newcastle United defender dislocated his shoulder.

However, the 29-year-old is edging closer to a return to first-team action, and Debuch posted a photo from his London Colney comeback on his Instagram page on Wednesday afternoon.

Debuchy wrote: “So happy to be back. #COYG Thank you everyone for your support”

The Arsenal defender has been out of action since January after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the 3-0 win over Stoke City and requiring an operation.

Debuchy had already missed a large portion of the season due to an ankle problem following his summer transfer to Emirates Stadium from Newcastle United.

Debuchy, 29, has scored one goal in 10 Premier League games for Arsene Wenger’s men so far this season. He is expected to return to action some time in April.
