Mesut Ozil wished his former Real Madrid team-mates good luck as he put his feet up to watch the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Germany international and his Arsenal team-mates have been relegated to spectators of Europe’s elite club competition after they were dumped out at the last-16 stage by Monaco last month.

And Ozil was cheering on his former employers Real Madrid on Wednesday as Los Blancos took on local rivals Atletico Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Ozil posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Good luck to my former teammates @realmadrid! #ucl”

The World Cup winner has been in good form for Arsenal in recent weeks since returning from injury at the start of the year.

He will be expecting to feature when the north London side return to Premier League action for Sunday’s clash with Chelsea at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are currently second in the table and 10 points behind Jose Mourinho’s leaders.
