Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen reflects on Spurs' 3-1 victory over Newcastle United

Christian Eriksen hailed a vital win for Tottenham Hotspur on Instagram after Spurs were 3-1 winners against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side made a much-needed return to winning ways against the Magpies courtesy of goals from Eriksen, Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane.

The Denmark international has scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season, with only Kane having netted more times for Tottenham.

Eriksen, who moved to White Hart Lane in a £12m deal from Ajax in 2013, was delighted with a crucial win in their pursuit of European football next season.

Eriksen posted the above snap and wrote: “The picture says it all! #3points #importantwin #golazo #10 #newcolournewboots”

The 23-year-old midfielder has scored 12 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the current campaign.

Tottenham, who lost to Chelsea in the League Cup final, are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with five games left to play.
