Liverpool defender Emre Can gets behind Samid Yesil ahead of the Under-21 side's clash against Everton
Emre Can hasn’t had too much to cheer in recent weeks, so the Liverpool midfielder looked to take his mind of their worrying form by supporting the Under-21 side on Thursday night.
The Liverpool midfielder put on his close friend and team-mate Samid Yesil’s shirt ahead of mini derby between Micheal Beale’s Reds side and the Toffees at the home of their rivals, Goodison Park.
The 21-year-old striker scored twice on his return from a serious knee injuryin a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur for Beale’s men last week after spending over six months on the sidelines.
Can and Yesil have become firm friends since the Bayer Leverkusen youngster followed in the footsteps of highly-rated striker and swapped the German club for Liverpool last summer.
Can posted the above photo and wrote on Instagram: “Support my bro @smdysl today against Everton. #gerd #ynwa #liverpool”
Yesil has made two appearances for the senior side since he joined Liverpool from Leverkusen in 2012.
Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side face Queens Park Rangers at Anfield on Saturday evening.
