Harry Kane reveals his pride at captaining Tottenham for the first time on Sunday
Harry Kane took to social media to reveal his delight at captaining Tottenham for the first time, despite Spurs being held to a goalless draw by Burnley on Sunday.
The newly-capped England international replaced injured goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as skipper as he looked for his 30th goal of the season to help keep alive his side’s top-four hopes.
However, the north London side were unable to find a breakthrough as they were held to a stalemate at Turf Moor.
But despite the disappointment of seeing Spurs lose ground in the race for European qualification, Kane used his Instagram account to reveal his pride at being handed the captain’s armband.
Kane uploaded the picture above onto his Instagram account and wrote: “Captain #honour”
Tottenham’s next game is a home clash with Aston Villa in the Premier League next weekend. Sunday’s result left the north London side sixth in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth place.
