Jack Wilshere thanks his fans for their support as the Arsenal midfielder closes in on a return to action
Jack Wilshere took to social media on Thursday afternoon to thank Arsenal fans for their support as the midfielder closes in on a return to action.
The England international has not featured for Arsenal since damaging his ankle ligaments during the 2-1 loss to Manchester United back in November.
Wilshere was closing in on a return to action in February before undergoing a minor operation to remove pain from his ankle.
The 23-year-old took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground this week.
And the midfielder was clearly delighted to be back in action. Wilshere uploaded the photo above onto his Instagram account and wrote: “Felt good to play my first game since November, finally I can practise with the team everyday and look forward to a positive future…..thanks for all your support during my injury trust me it helps!”
Wilshere is unlikely to be available for selection when Arsenal host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, according to Arsene Wenger.
Striker Danny Welbeck, however, could be fit after the forward suffered a minor knee injury while on international duty with England.
