Liverpool pair Mario Balotelli and Dejan Lovren both have a point to prove ahead of Saturday's trip to The Hawthorns

Mario Balotelli was keen to let Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers know that he is ready to play against West Bromwich Albion.

The Reds striker was robbed of the chance to go from zero to hero last weekend after his late strike was incorrectly ruled out for offside as Liverpool lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Balotelli has found his first-team opportunities limited under the Northern Irishman following his £16m switch from AC Milan, racking up just 800 top-flight minutes in the Premier League this season.

However, the 24-year-old appeared optimistic of some first-team action on Friday night after Balotelli issued a rallying cry on his Instagram page.

Balotelli posted the above photo and wrote: “Me the boys and @dejanlovren06 we ready! laughing is healthy. GOOD NIGHT”

Balotelli has scored one goal in 14 Premier League appearances this season.

The Italy striker has been linked with a return to Serie A in the summer less than 12 months after his £16m move to Anfield.
