Mario Balotelli took to social media on Sunday night to voice his frustration at having a goal disallowed for offside during Liverpool’s FA Cup semi-final defeat by Aston Villa.

Liverpool took the lead in the 30th minute at Wembley thanks to Philippe Coutinho’s deflected effort, but Christian Benteke soon drew Tim Sherwood’s men level when he fired home six minutes later.

Villa dominated proceedings in the second half and took the lead when Fabian Delph drilled past Simon Mignolet nine minutes after half-time.

Balotelli had the ball in the Villa net late on but was adjudged to have been offside. Replays showed that the striker was in fact onside, as Villa held firm to book their place in next months final against Arsenal.

Balotelli posted the picture above on his Instagram account on Sunday evening and wrote: “No words. This picture say it all. (Congratulation to Aston Villa) anyway.. And guys HEAD UP we are Liverpool and YNWA especially when we lose”

Balotelli will be hoping to feature in Liverpool’s next game, which is a trip to West Brom on Saturday.
