Ander Herrera sends Iker Muniain his best wishes after the winger's cruciate knee ligament injury
Ander Herrera used social media to wish Iker Muniain a speedy recovery after the winger suffered a serious knee injury.
The 22-year-old Athletic Bilbao man is expected to be out of action for around six months after sustaining a cruciate knee ligament injury during his side’s 2-0 defeat away at Sevilla on Saturday night.
Herrera played alongside Muniain at Athletic Bilbao before his transfer to Manchester United last summer.
And the Spaniard used his Instagram account to wish his former team-mate all the best in his recover after Athletic Bilbao confirmed the severity of the injury on Tuesday afternoon.
Herrera uploaded the photo montage above onto his account and wrote: “With you more than ever my friend, football will miss you these few months.”
Herrera has been in fine form for United in recent weeks and scored twice as Louis van Gaal’s side sealed victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday.
He has scored five goals and made four assists in 19 Premier League games so far this season.
