Photo: Man United’s Ashley Young reveals ‘perks of the job’
Ashley Young has gone from villain to hero at Old Trafford over the course of the season, so it is no surprise the Manchester United winger was delighted to spend time with fans on Monday.
The England international was made a scapegoat alongside Marouane Fellaini for a series of disappointing performances throughout the 2013/14 campaign under David Moyes.
Young, though, has enjoyed something of a resurgence under the Scot’s successor, Louis van Gaal, as he has been deployed in his familiar left-wing role as well as a makeshift wing-back.
The 29-year-old, who was particularly influential in a 4-2 victory over Manchester City in the recent derby, described spending time with the club’s supporters as one of the perks of the job.
Young posted the above collage of photos and wrote on Instagram: “Genuinely one of the perks of the job, so rewarding #MUdreamday @manchesterunitedfoundation”
The former Aston Villa midfielder has scored two goals and has made three assists in his last 10 appearances for the 20-time English champions.
Van Gaal’s men make the trip to Goodison Park to face Everton in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
