Daniel Sturridge reveals his delight at seeing Jordan Henderson sign a new contract with Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge took to social media on Thursday afternoon to congratulate Jordan Henderson on his new five-year Liverpool contract.

The 24-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on his new deal on Thursday, with the former Sunderland man reportedly set to earn up to £100,000 a week.

The new deal will keep Henderson at Anfield until the summer of 2020 and the midfielder follows the likes of Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho in penning new deals with the Merseyside club this season.

England international Sturridge was clearly thrilled to see Henderson sign a new contract on Thursday, as he posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “New conny !!”

Henderson joined Liverpool from Sunderland back in 2011 in a deal worth around £20m. The Liverpool vice-captain has scored seven goals in 55 games for club and country so far this season.

He will be expecting to feature when Liverpool take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
