Tottenham defender Kyle Walker praises his Spurs team-mate after England's 1-1 draw with Italy
Kyle Walker has heaped praise on Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend after a 1-1 draw with Italy on Tuesday night.
Mason came off the bench to make his first England appearance in the second half against the Azzurri at Juventus Stadium.
And the Spurs midfielder teed up his Tottenham team-mate Townsend, who fired a powerful shot past Gianluigi Buffon to cancel out Graziano Pelle’s first-half opener.
And Tottenham defender Walker expressed his delight after he made his long-awaited England return before he congratulated Mason and Townsend.
Walker wrote: “COYS! Great to be back playing for my country again. Always a great honour! Congrats to Ryan on the first cap and Andros for the goal!”
England aren’t in action again until their clash against Republic of Ireland in a friendly at Aviva Stadium on 7 June.
Roy Hodgson’s side face Slovenia in their next Euro 2016 qualifier days later at Wembley.
The Three Lions are six points clear of Switzerland and Slovania at the top of Group E after five successive victories in qualifying so far.
