Erik Lamela is keeping himself motivated ahead of the return of the Premier League on Saturday after a thought-provoking Instagram post on Wednesday evening.

The Argentina international was omitted from Gerardo Martino’s recent squad for his country’s 2-1 victory over Ecuador in the Copa America.

Lamela has fallen out-of-favour in the international set-up following a disappointing season-and-a-half at White Hart Lane.

However, the 23-year-old is refusing to be discouraged as the Spurs midfielder uploaded a motivational post ahead of Tottenham’s clash against Burnely on Sunday.

Lamela wrote: “Give the maximum daily to get what you want !”

The South American has scored one goal and has made five assists in 25 Premier League appearances this season.

Lamela has netted just one Premier League goal following his club-record £30.75m switch to Tottenham from Roma in 2013.

The Spurs playmaker, who has netted twice in this season’s Europa League, has scored one goal in 10 appearances for the Argentina national team.
