Lord Sugar and Rodney Marsh react to Tottenham Hotspur's thrilling 2-2 draw with Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur came from behind twice to keep their Europa League hopes alive as Spurs played out a 2-2 draw with top-six rivals Southampton at St Mary’s.
Italy international Graziano Pelle edged the home side into a first-half lead before Spurs midfielder Erik Lamela levelled two minutes before half-time.
The towering Southampton striker restored their advantage in the 65th minute, but Belgium midfielder Nacer Chadli equalised with 20 minutes left to play.
Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from the professionals, past and present, in chronological order to the four-goal thriller.
Former Saints defender Danny Higginbotham (@Higginbotham05) fancies Ronald Koeman’s side to pick some holes in the home side’s defence: “Spurs defence have played high up all season and get done quite a lot in behind. Looks like Southampton will get a 1 v 1 before too long.”
Ex-Aston Villa striker Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) has something to say about Kelvin Davis’s efforts to stop Lamela’s leveller: “Dear me…keeper 1-1”
Former Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss (@VladiW7) is critical of Chadli’s attitude: “Hate when players do something wrong and then go mad at teammates.. Like Chadli just did.. #SOUTOT”
Tottenham supporter Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) ponders whether Harry Kane has finally been worked out: “Mr Kane is a bit quiet today . I wonder if opponents have sussed his game”
Finally, former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers forward Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) has some positive words to say about the north Londoners: “Spurs showed great character today, something you don’t associate with Spurs…2-2 FT”
