Thibaut Courtois: Chelsea confident of beating Man United

Thibaut Courtois says Chelsea will head into next weekend's clash with Manchester United confident of beating the Red Devils

Thibaut Courtois says Chelsea will head into next weekend’s showdown with Manchester United confident of beating the Red Devils to take a step closer towards the Premier League title.

The Blues host Louis van Gaal’s side at Stamford Bridge as they aim to continue their march towards their first top-flight title since 2010.

Chelsea are currently seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their dramatic 1-0 win at QPR on Sunday.

United, meanwhile, are third, following their impressive 4-2 derby win over Manchester City on Sunday.

But Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois is confident that the Blues have what it takes to overcome the Red Devils in west London.

Courtois told Chelsea TV: “The games against Manchester United and Arsenal are two important games so it will be very important to win them. But after this feeling today, we have a good feeling to go into the next ones.”

Meanwhile, defender Gary Cahill is expecting Saturday’s clash to be a thrilling showdown between two in-form teams.

“They’re good games, they’re mouth-watering games and everyone is looking forward to them,” Cahill told ESPN. “We’ve chalked another one off against QPR and we’re taking those steps, we want to keep the momentum going next week.

“We’re playing against an in-form Manchester United team but we’re playing at Stamford Bridge and they’re playing against a very good team. It should be a great game.”

Chelsea, who have a game in hand on most of their rivals, need 11 points from their remaining seven games to win the Premier League title.
