Thierry Henry: How Arsenal can put doubt in Chelsea minds
Thierry Henry challenges Arsenal to beat Chelsea and keep the title race open later this month
Thierry Henry believes that Arsenal could put doubt into the Chelsea squad in the Premier League title race if they can beat the Blues later this month.
Arsenal kept up their recent fine form with a battling 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday thanks to Aaron Ramsey’s first-half goal.
Chelsea, however, responded on Sunday as Cesc Fabregas’ last-gasp winner at QPR handed Jose Mourinho’s men a vital 1-0 victory which kept the Blues seven points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand.
Arsenal’s next Premier League game is their meeting with the west London side at Emirates Stadium on 26 April.
And Arsenal legend Henry has challenged Arsene Wenger’s men to keep up their fine form with victory over the Blues in north London later this month.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Henry said: “If they beat Chelsea, they will put some doubt in their mind. But there is one thing I want to go back to what Aaron Ramsey said.
“He said, and we clearly understood because he said it two or three times, that he doesn’t like it much playing on the right of midfield. But this will do a job for the team.
“The run they are on is because they are doing things they don’t like, but they do it for the team.
“That’s why they are doing what they are doing, and maybe why they didn’t perform at the start of the season because they were not doing it.”
Arsenal’s next game is their FA Cup semi-final clash with Reading at Wembley on Saturday evening.
