Tottenham transfers: Erik Lamela discusses Spurs future

Erik Lamela insists that he is happy at Tottenham amid speculation about his future

Erik Lamela has underlined his desire to stay at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the summer.

The Argentina international, who joined Spurs from Roma for £30m back in the summer of 2013, has been linked with a summer transfer away from White Hart Lane in recent weeks.

However, the playmaker insists that he is happy at the north London club and is ignoring the speculation about his future.

Lamela told FOX Sports: “I obviously see myself here. Those questions start to be usual but I am very good here and I see myself in here.”

Lamela, whose Spurs contract runs until 2016, has been limited to 21 Premier League starts for the north London side so far this season and was on target during the 2-2 draw with Southampton last weekend.

The 23-year-old has netted five goals and made six assists in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men so far this term.

He will be hoping to feature when Tottenham take on Manchester City in their next Premier League game on Sunday. Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League table.
