Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Burnley trip
Arsene Wenger says that Laurent Koscielny could be available for Arsenal's trip to Burnley on Saturday
Laurent Koscielny and Wojciech Szczesny will undergo late fitness tests ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League trip to Burnley on Saturday, Arsene Wenger has revealed.
Koscielny was forced off early in the second half of Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday with a muscular injury and Wenger revealed that the initial signs about the defender’s fitness were positive.
The Arsenal manager also confirmed that goalkeeper Szczesny should be available again after the Pole picked up a rib injury ahead of the Liverpool game.
“Koscielny will have a test today to see how far we can go. He has a scan yesterday which looked quite good,” Wenger told a news conference on Thursday morning.
“[Szczesny] has a test today. He has a good chance to be available for Saturday.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal also have Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Debuchy all available for selection again following their respective spells on the sidelines.
Wenger added: “We had a difficult start this season and we had many players out. Since then we have found our cohesion and we have moved forward.”
Wenger’s men head to Turf Moor in second place in the Premier League table after their recent fine domestic form.
The north London side have won nine of their last 10 top-flight games and now sit seven points behind leaders Chelsea heading into the final seven matches of the season.
