Aaron Ramsey has urged Arsenal to return to winning ways when they host Sunderland at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The north London side were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday after slipping to a surprise defeat by Swansea City in their previous Premier League outing.

Arsenal can secure qualification for the group stage of next season’s Champions League with a draw against the Black Cats in north London on Wednesday.

However, Ramsey wants Arsene Wenger’s men to claim victory in their remaining two top-flight games in the build-up to the FA Cup final against Aston Villa later this month.

Ramsey told Arsenal’s website: “It is another important game [against Sunderland on Wednesday].

“They will be fighting for their lives and we have two home games and we want to finish strong before the FA Cup final. I think we feel quite confident about [finishing in third].

“It was important to get a result [at United] and hopefully we can go into the remaining games and win them both before the big one.”

Wales international Ramsey has scored six goals and made six assists in 27 Premier League games for Arsenal so far this season.

The midfielder also scored three times and made one assist in the Champions League for the north London outfit.
