Ander Herrera has expressed his satisfaction at helping Manchester United clinch a top-four finish in the Premier League – but the Spaniard admits that the Red Devils must fight for trophies on all fronts next term.

The Red Devils guaranteed a spot in the Champions League after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal achieved the main objective of his first season in charge at the club.

United fell short in both domestic cup competitions during Herrera’s first campaign at the club, and the Spanish midfielder is determined to help Van Gaal’s men win silverware next season.

Speaking to MUTV after Sunday’s draw, Herrera said: “We are happy because we are in the top four and that was the first aim of this season.

“But we are Manchester United and next season we have to fight for all trophies.

“We are representing the biggest club in England and we fight for everything.”

Manchester United travel to Hull City in their final Premier League game next weekend.

Herrera scored six goals and made four assists in the Premier League in his first season at Old Trafford following his move to the club from Althetic Bilbao last summer.
