Angel di Maria admits that he is very disappointed with his first season at Manchester United and has vowed to step his game up next term.

The Argentina international has struggled to find consistent form for the Red Devils since his big-money switch from Real Madrid to Old Trafford last summer.

Di Maria has scored just three goals in 26 appearances for the Red Devils and has failed to hold down a regular starting spot in Louis van Gaal’s first-team due to his stuttering form.

However, the 27-year-old says that he is determined to improve his performances for the Red Devils next season.

Di Maria is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: “I’m not happy with my first year in England.

“I moved here from Real to win titles and this season has been very bad for me. I’m frustrated because I want to do better.

“The fans in England have not seen the real Di Maria. I know I can offer a better level. This year was not good enough.”

Di Maria will be hoping to feature when Arsenal travel to United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils need one more win from their remaining two games to secure a top-four finish in Van Gaal’s first season in charge.
