Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger reveals summer window plans
Arsene Wenger insists that his Arsenal squad does not need a radical overhaul this summer
Arsene Wenger insists that he is not planning wholesale changes at Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners boss watched his side edge closer to qualification for next season’s Champions League with a 3-1 win at Hull City on Monday night.
And the Frenchman insists that he is more focused on keeping his squad together over the summer than bringing in a number of players.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Monday’s win, Wenger said: “We don’t need to buy a number of players.
“If we find top, world-class players we’ll look at it but we have a very strong squad already in [terms of] numbers.
“Now we want to stay together and start well next season.”
Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring at the KC Stadium with a deflected free-kick in the 28th minute, before Aaron Ramsey netted a second just five minutes later.
Sanchez then rounded goalkeeper Steve Harper to slot home and make it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time.
Stephen Quinn’s header gave Hull hope after the break, but the Gunners held on to move to within three points of second-placed Manchester City.
Arsenal take on Swansea in their next Premier League game on Monday.
