The England international is expected to tell Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to move away from Anfield later this week.
Sterling, who has two years remaining on his current deal, was rumoured to have rejected an £100,000-a-week contract from the 18-time English champions earlier this year.
Former Liverpool midfielder Hamann doesn’t want Rodgers to accommodate any uncommitted players in his squad after the latest Sterling reports.
If Sterling wants to go let him. We not won much with him so we will be ok without him. We need players who want to be here and commit.

Sterling, who is being linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid, has scored seven goals and has made seven assists in 35 Premier League appearances this season.
The England forward emerged as a regular first-teamer under Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers.
The Jamiacan-born winger scored nine goals in 33 league games as Liverpool narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season.
