Mesut Ozil has been named the PFA fans’ player of the month for April after a sparkling few weeks for the Arsenal playmaker.
The award, powered by the football platform 90min, comes following the Germany international’s great form in the last month, in which he scored one goal and provided one assist to help Arsenal cement their place in top three of the Premier League.
Ozil played a integral role in helping Arsenal record two wins out of a possible three in April, extending their unbeaten run to nine games in the league.
He was instrumental in the 4-1 victory over Liverpool at the start of the month and scored the second goal against the Reds, as well as providing one assist.
The German followed this up with another impressive performance in the 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Burnley at Turf Moor. Ozil then played the full 90 minutes as Arsenal drew 0-0 with Chelsea last weekend.
The PFA fans’ player of the month awards are designed to give a strong voice to the supporters who are the lifeblood of the game. The awards are endorsed by the players and supported by the clubs.
One lucky fan voter will be chosen to present Ozil with the PFA fans’ player of the month award in person later this month.
