Cesc Fabregas: Eden Hazard can be Chelsea’s Lionel Messi
Cesc Fabregas believes that Eden Hazard has what it takes to become one of the best players in the world
Cesc Fabregas believes that Eden Hazard has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and become one of the best players in the world.
The Belgian playmaker has been in inspired form for Chelsea this season and was one of the driving forces behind the Blues’ Premier League title win.
Hazard scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to clinch the title at Stamford Bridge.
And Fabregas believes that the 24-year-old can still improve in the coming seasons.
Fabregas told reporters after Chelsea’s title win on Sunday: “He can be one of those for sure. He can be up there [with Messi] for sure. He’s had a fantastic season, I just want for him to do it again next year and to be even better.
“He’s the main guy. In my mind he is the guy that makes this team better than it is.
“Next year he has to prove himself in the Champions League as well because he is capable of that, and I am sure he will give many big nights of glory to this club.”
Hazard has scored 14 goals and made eight assists in 35 Premier League games for Jose Mourinho’s men so far this term. He also netted three times in the Champions League.
The playmaker, who joined the Blues from Lille back in 2012, jetted off to catch some sun this week after helping Chelsea win the title.
