Chelsea transfers: Thibaut Courtois rejects Real Madrid reports
Real Madrid target Thibaut Courtois insists he is happy at newly-crowned Premier League champions Chelsea
Thibaut Courtois has insisted that he is happy at Chelsea despite reported interest from Real Madrid.
The Belgium international won his first Premier League title on Sunday after he helped the Blues keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
Courtois, who has won back-to-back top-flight titles after Atletico Madrid won La Liga last term, has been touted as a potential long-term successor for Iker Casillas at The Bernabeu.
However, the 22-year-old Chelsea shot stopper was keen to stress his continued commitment to the newly-crowned Premier League champions.
“I am happy at Chelsea. I have four years on my contract,” Courtois is quoted as saying by London Evening Standard.
“I had great years at Atletico, I could dream thanks to that club, but in my career, I always aimed to be top.”
Courtois has made 30 Premier League appearances for the west London side after he managed to dislodge Petr Cech as the club’s number one goalkeeper.
The giant Belgian spent three season at Los Rojiblancos and won the Europa League, Copa del Rey and La Liga during his extended loan spell.
